Believe it our not we are coming up on our second Family Promise Host week. This is the second opportunity for our church family to participate in the mission we call Family Promise and there are many different ways to participate. As of now we still have one family we are hosting, but that could change at any time. Listed below are the ways you can help out. Please see me or refer to the Family Promise Bulletin Board in Sipple Hall for details and sign-up lists.
Set-Up and Take-Down: Sign-up to help put together and then disassemble the rooms the family will be staying in. Set-up occurs after church on Sunday, 8/16 and take-down will happen on Sunday, 8/23.
Hosting:Evening Hosts (5:30-8:30 pm) eat and socialize with our guests each night. Overnight Hosts (8:30 pm-7:00 am) sleep at the church and are on call in case of an emergency.
Providing Dinner: Each night we provide a hot meal for our guests and for our Evening Hosts. This can be done by the Evening Host team or by a separate team altogether.
Donations: This includes the donation of food staples for breakfast and lunch, consumable donations for grooming and entertainment, and items that will make our families more comfortable in their rooms. Please refer to the specific lists and sign-up sheets on the bulletin board.
Monetary Donations: These defray the costs of the evening meal and help stock our kitchen pantry.
